Das Festival stre!fen präsentiert internationale Performance Art in Görlitz-Zgorzelec! Sechs Performer:innen aus Polen, der Ukraine, Finnland und Tschechien sowie ein deutscher Schriftsteller kommen im Juli zu einer gemeinsamen Arbeitswoche in unsere Europastadt. Sie alle setzen sich in Zeiten von Grenzverletzungen und erzwungenen Migrationen mit der „Grenze” als kulturelles und natürliches Phänomen auseinander und entwickeln daraus vor Ort ihre vielfältigen Performances.
Lerne im Einführungsabend am Mittwoch die Künstler:innen und ihre Ansätze näher kennen. Erlebe am Samstag die Premiere von internationalen Performances auf beiden Seiten der Neiße. Zusätzlich zu den Performances findet am Dienstag die Lesung „Ein Zug aus Odessa. Vom Verstummen der Poesie in Hörweite eines Krieges” von Lothar Quinkenstein statt.
In Zeiten zunehmender Invasionen und Migration befasst sich die internationale Künstlerwoche in diesem Jahr in einem konzeptionellen Rahmen mit „GRENZEN“. Räumliche Grenzen zwischen Städten, Stadtvierteln und Gemeinden werden ständig neu geschaffen, um Landschaften ethnischer, geschlechtlicher und religiöser Gruppen zu identifizieren und zu unterscheiden. Diese Grenzen sind ein komplexes Phänomen und treten in vielen verschiedenen Formen auf. Manchmal handelt es sich um politische Instrumente, die durch feste Mauern und Drähte gebildet werden und Räume nicht nur in administrativen und geopolitischen Regionen, sondern auch in kulturellen, wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Sphären durchschneiden, und manchmal sind es natürliche Formationen wie Flüsse oder Gebirgszüge. Da die Neiße weiterhin in ihrem unverwechselbaren Rhythmus fließt, stellt sie ein bewegliches Grenzphänomen zwischen Deutschland und Polen dar.

Międzynarodowa sztuka performance w Europamieście Görlitz-Zgorzelec na festiwalu stre!fen: sześcioro performerek i performerów z Polski, Ukrainy, Finlandii i Czech oraz niemiecki pisarz spotkają się w lipcu na festiwalowy tydzień warsztatowy. W czasach, gdy na co dzień doświadczamy skutków przymusowych migracji, a granice – rozumiane na wielu płaszczyznach – są naruszane, to właśnie one są tematem przewodnim, z którego czerpią artystki i artyści jako ze zjawiska kulturowego.
We wtorek zapraszamy na czytanie utworu Lothara Quinkensteina pod tytułem „Pociąg z Odessy: O wyciszaniu poezji wobec głosu wojny”. Otwarte spotkanie w środę pozwoli lepiej poznać artystki/artystów i ich podejście do sztuki. W sobotę, po obu stronach Nysy, będzie można uczestniczyć w premierowych prezentacjach przygotowanych na tę okzję performansów.
W czasach nasilających się napięć i migracji tematem międzynarodowego tygodnia artystów są GRANICE jako zagadnienie konceptualne. Przestrzenne granice między miastami, dzielnicami i społecznościami są nieustannie tworzone w celu identyfikacji i wyróżnienia poszczególnych krajobrazów: etnicznych, płciowych i religijnych. Granice są zjawiskiem złożonym i występują w wielu różnych formach. Czasami są to instrumenty polityczne, które tworzą solidne mury i zasieki, przecinające przestrzenie nie tylko w regionach administracyjnych i geopolitycznych, ale także w sferze kulturowej, gospodarczej i społecznej, a czasami są to formacje naturalne, takie jak rzeki czy łańcuchy górskie. Ponieważ rzeka Nysa nadal płynie swoim charakterystycznym rytmem, stanowi ona zjawisko graniczne między Niemcami a Polską oraz artystyczne pole działania.

Polski i niemiecki brzeg Nysy pomiędzy Mostem Staromiejskim a Mostem Miejskim
This year Stre!fen Festival is hosting 6 international artist from Poland, Ukraine, Finland and a German writer. During the week, the artists will spend their time in both cities Gortliz and Zgorzelec, will also present themselves and their main areas of work as a public colloquium in addition of lecture „A Train from Odessa. Of the Silencing of Poetry Within Earshot of a War” by Lothar Quinkenstein and at the end of the week artists will perform their performances as a result of their observations and research on the site.
In time of increasing invasions and migration, international artist week deals with ‚the borders‘ in a conceptual framework this year. Spatial frontiers between cities, neighborhoods, and communities are being constantly created to identify and distinguish landscapes of ethnic, gender and religious groups. These borders are a complex phenomena and get into existence in lots of different forms. It is sometimes political instruments which formed by solid walls and wires, transecting spaces not only in administrative and geopolitical regions but also into cultural, economic and social spheres and sometimes it is a natural formations such as rivers or mountain ranges. As the river Neisse continues to flow with its distinctive rhythm, it represents a border phenomena between Germany and Poland.

On 09.07.2022, the artists will be presenting their performances on both banks of the Neisse river, and they will perform their site specific performances over a flowing border. Performances will be open to the public and free of charge.
