Marta Ostajewska (º1980, Poland) performance artist, and researcher. She obtained two master’s degrees in Arts (2004: University of Lodz, Poland and 2010: School of Arts, KASK in Gent, Belgium) and a Ph.D. in Fine Arts (2018: Performance Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland). She took part in many international projects and festivals (including RIAP in Canada, artistic residence in Denmark, Human Hotel: Kopenhagen, IMAGINARIUS in Portugal, BIO50 in Ljubljana, PAB OPEN 2015, PAB OPEN 2017 in Bergen, INTERACTIONS in Piotrków Trybunalski, FOTOFESTIVAL in Lodz). The editor-in-chief of the artistic magazine „Afterimages“ (2019-2021). Content editor of the book „Kiwi from PL. Tales of Performers“ (University of Warsaw, 2019). Member of the feminist Frakcja group (2016-…). She took part in the Coling project (RISE, Horizon 2020) and spent one year in Mexico (ARENET) and the USA (Smithsonian Institution) on the research grand (2019 and 2022). She has an interest in expanding the societal impact of contemporary performance. Her artistic creation is fundamentally embedded in engaged contemporary performance and social realities.
