We leave traces. As living beings on this planet, we create and make things, walk through the day, eat, drink, sleep. All of our activities leave traces. Some visible, some invisible, sometimes just a trace in the minds or hearts of other living beings.
The earth changes every day. Weather, waves, climate, everything changes and is in constant flux. We are part of the change. We grow, we sow, we harvest and we perish. As a living organism, the earth is also a being whose health we help to shape. It breathes, is in its time, has a rhythm and we move between day and night. But when the time or rhythm changes, we are also out of rhythm. My performance makes our traces visible through a simple line drawn through a glass window. The lines draws the faces of people, the bodies, the trees and houses. Everything becomes one and can no longer be separated from one another. The line connects everything living and also the non-living. Twelve trees are planted and then packaged to be lovingly placed in the arms of visitors and spectators. They all become part of the performance and take on a responsibility. They are supposed to plant this tree so that it can become the beginning of a new forest, their own one. In this way, everyone leaves a trace and is part of the constant change.
