Jadwiga Sawicka (PL) // 20.09.24 // 6 pm // installation

Jadwiga Sawicka creates paintings, photographies, objects, installations in public space. Since the 1990s, Sawicka’s paintings have been based on words and sentences taken from the mass media and literature. She employs ideologically charged words, linguistic scraps, slogans from political banners, tabloid headlines and TV news bulletins. She has exhibited widely in Poland and took part in the presentations of Polish art abroad. Curator of the exhibitions and art projects, she lives in Przemyśl and works at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Rzeszów.
