

Sebastian Hänel, born in 1973 in Halle/S. and raised in the former GDR under strict religious circumstances, Sebastian Hänel made a fresh start in 2016 as a freelance artist after decades as an educator. His work oscillates between performance art, graphics, and installations. These various forms are united by a trust in the process, which is guided by the perception of and dialogue with body, material, and movement. The expression and transformation of human conditions is a central theme throughout.
He is the founder and artistic director of stre!fen.
Gerd Kempe, born in 1959, trained at the Berlin Academy of Dramatic Arts and was an apprentice actor at the theatres in Halle and Wittenberg. His artistic career has taken him to numerous national and international festivals in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
Gerd brings his unique artistic perspective to audiences in an entertaining and imaginative way.
