
Manuela Büchting is a cultural and sustainability manager, as well as an art educator and cultural mediator, specializing in artistic research, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and philosophical inquiry in practice. Drawing plays a significant role in her artistic practice, and she frequently works with drawing-based techniques as a means of exploration, observation, and engagement.
After studying Fine Arts in Braunschweig, she completed an MFA in Documentary Media at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. She has worked with various cultural institutions in Germany and Canada, including serving as an art education specialist at the Museum Sinclair-Haus from 2015 to 2022. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Altenburger Museen team.
In addition, she is a wilderness and nature educator as well as a certified urban nature guide. Her work brings together art, culture, education, and sustainability, creating participatory formats that encourage people to engage actively with nature and society.
Manu, as part of the aufZEICHNUNG section, will create live drawings documenting selected performances.
