Igor Zenzerović (b. 1990) is a Croatian-born interdisciplinary performance artist whose works fuse elements of post-drama, site-specific intervention, and lecture performance. He began experimenting with sound art and poetry, which he soon paused to study Cultural Studies, Comparative Literature, and Anthropology in Zagreb, Vienna, and Ljubljana. This multidisciplinary attention is often reflected in his lecture performances and in his reparations
with artistic research. Some noteworthy recent works include Ruler of de World (2022.), performed over three days in shallow water as a site-specific performative reading exploring different temporalities of apocalypses. In (A)live! (2020), kefir grains were subjected to scanner lights, leaving salvation to the onlooker. His Study of an Embrace (2021) explores intimacy, biopolitics, and resistance through gestures that defy accelerated rhythmic regimes. The study was performed in Belgrade, Amsterdam, and Zagreb, where it gained media traction, and the 2023 iteration was entered into the Croatian Archive of Political Performances. One of his most recent performance pieces, “Redacted” (2024), set in a moving car and addressing conspiracy theories, earned him a reward for theatre innovation while experimenting with speed and peripheral viewing through a complex dramaturgy involving 56 volunteers. His practice now encompasses durational performance, socially engaged art, and experimental dramaturgies. Igor is an active community developer and youthworker in his hometown Pula.
