Ewa Zarzycka is performance, installation and graphic artist, Studied at the Department of Graphic Arts. Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at Art College (now Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, 1973–1978. Since 2008, she has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław at the Faculty of Sculpture and Art Mediation. In 2024 she was honoured with the Katarzyna Kobro Award.
Ewa is a conceptual artist, master of spoken performance. During her performances she tells stories which combine art with ordinary life, paying attention to the definitional ambiguity of the difference between them. She maintains a distanced attitude towards any attempts to define art, thus escaping the standard expectations of interpretation.
With her distinctive and unique performance practice, Ewa will be with us on 9 July 2026 as part of the festival’s Residency Programme.
